Creating Your Personal Website

Configuring Your Personal Website

You may reference the demo sites provided for ideas on how you can craft your perfect personal website.

1. Select a Theme and Customize Colours

Navigate to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Themes’. Select one of the 2 themes available. To customize colours, go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Color Settings’.

2. Set a Logo, Favicon, Preloader

These can be found under the ‘Settings’ tab.

The favicon is the mini logo that appears on the web browser’s site tab. Highly recommended to set one.

The preloader is an image that appears while your website loads (optional).

3. SEO Information

If you would like to be found on search engines easily, go to ‘settings’ -> ‘SEO Information’ and set your meta title and description.

4. Set your Social Links

Under the ‘Settings’ -> ‘Social Links’, add your social links such as FB, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.

This will appear at the top of your website, alongside your profile picture and title for your visitors to easily contact or find out more about you.

Setting it Up

There are 9 sections available for your Personal Website. They are (in order):

  1. About (Cannot be disabled)
  2. Skills
  3. Services
  4. Experiences
  5. Achievements
  6. Portfolio
  7. Testimonial
  8. Blogs
  9. Contact
1. Configure sections on your website

Go to ‘Preference’ on the menu sidebar. Enable the sections you would like to have on your website. Disable the rest.

2. Setting your Personal Information

Go to ‘Home Sections’ to upload your image, name and job title designation. These information here will be at the top of your website, and the first things visitors will see upon landing on your website.

3. Set Section Titles

As mentioned, there are 9 sections available. Under ‘Home Sections’, you can set the section title headers, section subtitles, section description and section image to accompany.

4. Edit Keywords on your Website

There are some default keywords and buttons on your site when you first publish it. For example, “Hire Me” at your profile section.

To edit button or menu keywords, go to “Language Management” to edit these words.

5. Creating a QR Code

Firstly, get the link to your personal website by going to ‘Domains & URLs’ -> ‘Path Based URL’. Copy the URL.

Under ‘QR Codes’ -> ‘Generate QR Code’, paste the URL of your personal website. Proceed to customize your QR code.

You may save the QR code and it can be found under ‘QR Codes’ -> ‘Saved QR Codes’, and it can be downloaded at any time.

Sections Introduction & Overview

1. Skills

Under the ‘Skills’ section, it is designed for you to show your core competencies.

The ‘percentage’ field should be the level of competency the particular skill is at.

‘Serial Number’ determines the order in which your skills are shown on your personal website.

2. Services

The ‘Services’ section is meant to showcase services offered. It is typically used by corporate client-facing persons, real estate agents, insurance agents, salespersons, freelancers.

Services also has a dedicated page for itself. Check out the demo.

‘Content’ should be the description of your services. It will show up in the dedicated services page for your personal website. See demo.

‘Serial Number’ determines the order in which your services are shown on your personal website.

‘Meta Keywords’ and ‘Meta Description’ are for search engine optimization.

4. Experiences

Under ‘Experiences’, it is split into ‘Education’ and ‘Job Experiences’.

5. Achievements

The ‘Achievements’ section is meant for showcasing your key statistics. For example, 10+ years of experience, 900 projects completed, 10% decrease in CPC, etc.

6. Portfolio

The ‘Portfolio’ section is a versatile section that is mainly used for showcasing projects, case studies, past works, products or services. You may change the keyword “Portfolio” under ‘Language Management’.

Similar to ‘Services’, it has a dedicated page on its own (demo).

To start a portfolio, you have to first create a category under ‘Portfolio’ -> ‘Category’ -> ‘Add Category’. You may create multiple categories.

To add a Portfolio, go to ‘Portfolio’ -> ‘Portfolios’ -> ‘Add Portfolio’.

‘Serial Number’ determines the order in which your services are shown on your personal website.

In order for your portfolio item to show up on your personal website homepage, you have to check ‘Featured’ box. Else, it will only appear in the dedicated ‘Portfolio’ page (demo).

‘Meta Keywords’ and ‘Meta Description’ are for search engine optimization.

7. Testimonial

‘Testimonial’ as the name suggests, is for testimonials provided to you, by your clients, colleagues, etc.

8. Blogs

The ‘Blog’ section is a section that can be used to demonstrate thought leadership. You may change the keyword “Blog” under ‘Language Management’.

Similar to ‘Services’ & ‘Portfolio’, it has a dedicated page on its own (demo).

To start a blog, you have to first create a category under ‘Blogs’ -> ‘Category’ -> ‘Add Category’. You may create multiple categories.

To add a Blog Post, go to ‘Blogs’ -> ‘Blogs’ -> ‘Add Blog’.

‘Meta Keywords’ and ‘Meta Description’ are for search engine optimization.

9. Contact

The ‘contact’ section allows visitors of your personal website to send a message to you.

To customize the call to action button which is by default ‘send message’, go to ‘Language Management’.
